We were really excited last month to hear that Fund it has been selected as one of the 2011 Arthur Guinness Fund Awardees – Fund it will receive €50,000 over two years to help support the development of the platform, along with professional business mentoring and support from Diageo.
The work has already begun, and we’re bursting with ideas in the run up to our 6 month anniversary, which coincidentally falls on Arthur’s Day!
The Arthur Guinness Fund supports ‘people with a business head and a social heart’, and we’re very proud to be listed alongside other winners such as the Open Window project developed by artist Denis Roche for people in long-term residential care; the Fumbally Exchange supporting the development of micro-creative industries and Kanchi, the network developing the disability business case.
The Arthur Guinness Fund was set up in 2009 to support social entrepreneurs in developing their initiatives for broader impact- continuing the philanthropic spirit and legacy of Arthur Guinness in the year of the brand’s 250th anniversary
The Fund joins our other supporters who have helped us through our first six months – including the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, Bank of America Merrill Lynch and the Vodafone Foundation.
