Cork Photo

We are Cork Photo, an artist led photography festival running for the month of July. During Cork Photo individual artists collectives galleries and local businesses come together to celebrate all things photographic. Taking part in Cork Photo is easy, the festival is open to all who wish to exhibit!

We provide exhibition opportunities to both local and international emerging artists through our open call submissions. The Cork Photo team also programmes site specific works in partner spaces like Elizabeth Fort, The Lewis Glucksman Gallery and Blackrock Castle.

Special guests such as John Duncan of Source Magazine and Prof Stephen Macleod from Metro Imaging join us this year to provide an insight to the industry.

We are a voluntary, artist led festival. The team comprises of Louise Maher, Naomi Smith and Colin Aherne. We take care of all the behind the scenes stuff required to make a project like Cork Photo possible, from programming and installation to web and graphic design.

The festival relies on the continued kind support from our exhibitors, volunteers, festival partners and sponsors! We hope you will join us in supporting Cork Photo this year as we work to bring you an exciting month of photography.

We currently pay for the festival’s printed guides, individual artists postcards, vinyls and posters with a participation fee of €40 per venue.

We are running this campaign to raise money to help with the following:

  • Production costs for commissioned local photographers working on site specific work.
  • Travel expenses for invited international exhibitors and industry professionals.
  • Promotional merchandise created by Pretty Handsome Studio
  • To pay a photographer to document all the exhibitions.
  • To cover insurance for our HQ space and for all the incidental installation materials like paint and fixings.

We need your help to generate income to develop more paid opportunities for local and international artists exhibiting here in Cork.

Thank you for taking the time to hear about our festival, we really value your support and we hope you will enjoy our rewards!

Our print rewards are kindly donated by the following artists:

Harry Moore

Jed Niezgoda

Stéphane Bruchet

Colin Aherne

We look forward to sharing photography with you!
