Three out of every four of them were successfully funded, and you guys have been incredibly generous, with the average pledge to each just over €54. With crowdfunding, ever fiver counts, and given that we’ve had over 17,000 individual pledges, that adds up to lots!
In fact, in just a very few weeks, we’re likely to pass €1million in pledges! We’re well over €900k now, so watch this space!
Who will pledge that One Millionth Euro?
We’re keeping a close eye on the ticker, and will be making a fuss of the person that pledges that one millionth euro! Remember, all our projects are helping realise creative ideas. So click here and search out something that tickles you, intrigues you, or that you simply want to see, and pledge €5 or more if you spot a reward you simply must have. Remember pledges are just that – the money is not charged unless a project passes 100% of their fundraising goal, and not until their fundraising time has ended.
Have you noticed how many projects on the site are linked to a great festival? We were in Cork last week visiting the fantastic Cork Midsummer Festival and everywhere we looked we saw projects that had been helped by the Fund it crowd. That’s you!
The Solstice crew helped create their mammoth visual art programmes for the second year with funds raised on the site; Eat My Noise drew a great crowd for A:Volution; Cork itself gave a wonderful performance in a starring role as another city in Berlin Love Tour; and we were particularly excited to see Dylan Tighe’s Record and Fearghus Ó Conchúir’s Starlight get 4 stars in reviews in The Irish Times.
There’s lots of projects which will feature in this year’s Absolut Fringe, on the site already, if you want to check in and see what’s coming.
Projects we like!
We’ve just picked out 4, there’s dozens live on the site right now to get you pledging!
Catching precious memories: Dalton House Daycare Centre in Kilkenny provides essential services for the elderly in the community of Gowran. They’re working to highlight the valuable contribution of people in the community by recording views and recollections to publish a book which will offer an understanding of the foundations of the community. We think every community should do this!
A Comic Book Anthology: Stray Lines will showcase the work of Ireland’s most exciting comic creators – Philip Barrett, Barry Hughes, Gus Hughes, Chris Judge & Andrew Judge and Paddy Lynch in the style of a graphic novel. Just an €8 pledge gets you a copy of the publication!
Slammin’ poetry :The 6th All Ireland Poetry Slam Championship takes place in Cork , but not before heats in Belfast, Derry, Dublin, Galway and Limerick from which 8 performance poets are plucked to secure a place in the final.
The Quest for a Real Hard Hob: An intriguingly named futuristic musical and visual show that engages and immerses the audience in sound, story and emotion.
That’s it for now. Have a great week.
The Fund it team!
