After - An Original Short Film

After the death of their sole remaining parent, their father, and the subsequent funeral, Leann and Sandra grieve in their own way. Leann escapes into a book, while Sandra is more pragmatic. Sandra starts to worry about Leann as time progresses and resolves to try a more traditional irish approach, reliving and remembering happy memories. Can they bond together or will the death tear them apart?

As well as telling the story my aim is to create a professional work environment. The money raised will go toward insurance, transport, possible equipment rental, food, and also paying cast and crew. In order to create the best possible work I believe that paying the cast and crew is essential.

The project will be filmed over two days, I'm working on bringing my cast and crew together at present. I'm delighted to say that Kolm Mooney has agreed to direct the film.

Kolm Mooney is a young Irish film maker that compiled a great deal of experience in his short time working in the film industry. After graduating Film Production in Colaiste Dhulaigh he spent a year in New York establishing himself as an up and coming 1st Assistant Director. Upon returning to Ireland he join up with Red Line Filmes Ireland with whom he recently directed the short film 'Artistic Merit' that has start what promises to be a prosperous festival circuit and has started the ground work for the feature version of the film which he is planing on Directing next year.

'After' will be filmed near Burncourt (near Cahir), Co. Tipperary, I have a fantastic location on the Galtee mountains that's all set to go. The script has been written and as with these things will probably go through a few more edits before the final stage.

My name is Helena Reilly, I've just finished my degree in Drama and Theatre Studies with Music at University College Cork. I've worked on many film projects as an actor, and I have basic skills in Film editing, as well as working behind the scenes on many student films, I've held my share of boom mics. I also have basic camera training. I've done playwrighting courses, stage combat, even did some training with Pistols in my year studying in the US.
