Animus

By Denis Clohessy

description

Denis Clohessy, Noelia Ruiz and Company want you to help them bring murder to life! We are creating 'Animus' a music driven tale of murder and revenge and we are asking for your help in raising money for the production’s design elements; Particularly for the rental of sound equipment as well as Set, Costume, Video and Lighting.

Our production will happen in Studio One in The Lir from September 16th to the 21st.

The show will feature both live and pre-recorded compositions woven together to create a powerful soundscape, taking us through a shrouded, murderous world into which the characters have been thrown.

A family is thrown into turmoil after a violent event. Two sisters set out to seek their version of justice. A man is left to deal with the consequences of what he sees as a tragic accident. Animus looks at death, loyalty, greed and revenge and what motivates these acts. How responsible are we for the consequences of our choices? Are we all, in fact, capable of carrying out violent acts? We will explore the strength of family bonds and relationships, and what we will go through to protect and honour our loved ones. How to serve up revenge: hot or cold? And in the end what are we left with?

We are very lucky to have three top notch cast members: Camille Lucy Ross, Jim Roche and Anna Shiels-McNamee. The score will be performed by the hugely talented Quintessential Saxophone Quartet and the fantastic vocal quartet the Sludgemouth Singers.
