Black Church Process

Hello!

My name is Colin Martin and I am the Chairperson at Black Church Print Studio. We are hoping, with your support, to launch a new initiative called Black Church Process. Through this initiative we will invite leading art practitioners from other art disciplines to work with the resources of Black Church Print Studio in the production of innovative artworks. In 2012 we plan to run three pilot projects. These first projects will involve artists Brian Fay, Damien Flood, and Jesse Jones, all principal figures within their individual fields of drawing, painting and filmmaking. This programme will offer an insight into the potential of printmaking while promoting it within contemporary art practice.

Each project will be managed by a Master Printmaker and supported by a Print Coordinator working directly with each artist from the initial concept, studio visits, researching, proofing, and testing to the final printing of the project/edition. The creative process will be central in developing each individual print project. The main expenses include Master Printmaker fees, material costs, professional documentation and a showcase presentation by the artists of the works produced during this process.

All funds raised will go directly towards funding these three projects in 2012. We’d like to thank you in advance for your support.

Established in 1982, Black Church Print Studio is one of the leading contemporary fine art print studios in Ireland. We are an artist led, non-profit organisation. Our facilities are fully equipped to provide for all types of fine art printmaking techniques including etching, screenprint, lithography and giclée printing. We aim to expand the boundaries of printmaking by embracing new, innovative processes.
