Boys From County Hell is an darkly comic short horror film from Writer/Director Chris Baugh and Producer Brendan Mullin.
A trio of cash-strapped workmen, led by a conflicted father and son team, undertake a job in a forbidding, isolated landscape.
Disturbed by mysterious recent events along this lonely stretch of road they are determined not to outstay their welcome...
As darkness closes in, a chain of events finds the trio stranded; all too aware that they are not alone. When they come under attack from a vicious and seemingly unstoppable enemy they are forced to use all their wits and resources to survive in a place where the landscape truly lives up to legend.
We are shooting Boys From County Hell at the end of February 2012 in the the barren landscape of Black Mountain just outside Belfast.
We have received some funding from Northern Ireland Screen which means we are half way there but now we need your help to bring the world of County Hell to the screen. Our aim is to make a film that is fun, scary and like all the best horror driven by strong characters, a compelling central story and a kick ass villain!
Shooting a horror film outside over the course of three nights is an ambitious undertaking. It will require (among other things) outdoor lighting, a generator truck, A RED camera, a beat up transit van, severed limbs, and a generous dose of fake blood!
We have already assembled a talented and professional crew. From our Director of Photography to our Make-up effects designer everyone involved is bringing a huge amount of passion and creativity to the project. We are also in the midst of casting for young actors from all over the country to become the "Boys From County Hell".
The film is a labour of love for all involved and all money raised will be put on screen to ensure the terrifying world of County Hell is properly realised.
We plan to make a fun, action packed film that will be enjoyed by horror lovers and movie fans the world over. We need all the help we can get in bringing it to the screen and any donations recieved will be greatly appreciated.
