ABOUT THE FILM Ceol follows a traditional Irish music group, an American couple and their adventures in the Irish countryside. It is a light-hearted comedy drama set in the southeast of Ireland. We are working with some great actors and a very talented crew. The pre-production process is actively underway and we hope to go into production in August.
WHO WE ARE We’re a group of young filmmakers whose work has won many national awards and has gone on to be screened internationally. Members of Knockbeg College Film Society, a multi-award winning film production group in Carlow, are coordinating this project. Dean Gilchrist and Gearóid Gibbs are heading up the production team, and are supported by a team of very talented individuals.
Also working on the film are Adam Rael, who was runner up in Ireland’s Young Filmmaker of the Year 2012; and Andrew Jordan, winner of the Best Film award at the Young Irish Film Makers Awards 2012.
We are collaborating on this project and hope to form a synergy, where our combined talents will be much greater than our separate efforts. We hope our film will attract international attention.
WHY WE NEED FUNDING We have secured some funding for Ceol through fundraising, grants and donations but we need more finance to ensure Ceol is all we hope it can be. If this project is to be made possible, we will require funding in order to feed and transport our cast and crew, rent equipment and source costumes and props.
Your funding will be the basis upon which we will build this film. We are grateful for any support to help this short film become a reality and to bring our exciting story to life. This is a project we believe in and we look forward to sharing our journey with you.
HOW YOU CAN HELP We appreciate any support however small. We have some great rewards on offer to say thanks! Should we reach our target please continue to spread the word of our film as every little helps. We will be posting regular updates on our Facebook page, Twitter and on our production blog. You will also have access to behind the scenes footage and photographs of the production from start to finish. So please join us on this exciting project and help make Ceol a reality!
It's been a long process but finally we are delighted to release the official Ceol trailer, which can be viewed at http://youtu.be/JHNt7L8G8jw.
