When a Dublin-based band land the gig of a lifetime in New York, it could be their last chance to catch that elusive big break. All they have to do is get there in one piece...
Clear The Air by Hugh Travers and directed by Ronan Phelan is a story about musicians, an ash cloud, an enforced road trip and the chance to figure out what matters.
Richard Reilly is the lead singer and chief songwriter in a Dublin-based band. Everything in his life is secondary to his ambitions with the band. His best friend is Lenny Keogh, a functioning alcoholic drummer who hides his true feelings beneath a veneer of affable charm and an easy-going beer buzz. Lenny’s sister Lisa is a singer with the band but she has to juggle it with a demanding, well-paid job in finance and a messy on-off relationship with Richard. If they can manage not to kill each other first, they might learn to enjoy the journey instead of worrying about the destination.
Clear The Air will run from 4th – 16th February 2013 in Theatre Upstairs, Dublin.

Hugh & Ronan are supported by a dedicated artistic & production team who are very excited to be part of this production, but like Richard Reilly, the lead singer, we need your help to make this dream come to fruition. If you have ever stayed up until 3am strumming your guitar to master that riff just the way it is meant to be played or used your hairbrush as a mic while you were singing to an imaginary sell-out gig in the R.D.S – this is the play for you! We need financial assistance to cover production costs totalling €2000. Your donation, no matter how small or large, will be of incredible importance to the production of Clear The Air.
We invite you to become an honorary part of the company by sponsoring the production of this fantastic play!
Thank you.
