We are thrilled our new album is now under construction. We have already begun building but funds are needed to bring this exciting project to completion. The album will combine studio work in AudioMonkey Kinvara along with some home recording. It will comprise thirteen original compositions some of which we have played at concerts. Our music is being carefully arranged and prepared.
The album will feature Barry Hurley on vocals/drums/percussion/guitar, David O'Keeffe on guitar, Stuart Wicke on bass, Sinéad Bracken on flute, Marcio Noal on electric guitar and with contribution on vocals from Adrian O'Kane, Cathy Shannon and Yvonne Aherne. Further musicians will step in for piano, violin, viola cello and other parts.
The funds will be spent on studio time and mastering of the album as well as CD replication, design and printing.
Funding is roughly broken down as:
Studio recording/mixing at AudioMonkey Studio: €2008 (part funding)
Mastering: €350
CD Replication, Design and Printing: €400
8% Fund it contribution: €242
We are a Galway-based band. The name "Croí8" pronounced "Create" comes from the Irish word for heart (Croí) and the symbol "8".
Our music fuses indie folk rock and features alternative guitar tunings, unusual arrangements, interesting rhythms, choral influences and flue embellishments. Our previous album "One Step Closer" showcases our music and is available as a CD and as a digital download.
The band started when guitarist David O'Keeffe met with drummer Barry Hurley who were both in university at the time. Our concerts have included Roisin Dubh and the Town Hall and Taibhdhearc Theatres in Galway/
Launch of the album is planned for December 2020. The project is well-planned and scores written with studio, mastering and CD replication facilities known. There is minimal risk with completion of the build.
We have no other funding resources apart from our own which are now exhausted. Crowdfunding this project will help us to complete out the work and bring this amazing music to the world.
Come build with us!
