Dabble in Art - New Retail Collection

By Gill O'Shea

The aim of this project is help me to embark on the next phase of my creative journey. Since establising Dabble in Art, my dream has been to share my artwork throughout the world. As buying a piece of original artwork is not within everyone's budget, I want to develop a range of giftware products that feature my original designs to make my work more accessible to everyone.

The funds provided through fundit will be used directly to research, design and manufacture a number of retail products. These will include women's silk scarves and other functional products that feature my designs. The process for creating my designs will commence by engaging with my followers and friends to identify the types of products that would best suit my artwork. I will then work with a textile designer to integrate my artwork into a range of designs. Following further engagement with my followers and potential customers I will select the final designs, manufacture a sample product range and showcase them to retailers at a trade fair in August 2018.

I launched Dabble in Art in December 2016 to share my artwork and follow my dreams of becoming a successful professional artist. I have just completed my first year in business - its been a rollercoaster experience and at times it felt like a crazy move, but the response to my work as been amazing. Having funded my first year through my sales and support from my husband, I am looking to cultivate some commercial products to help me sustain my business and allow me to continue as a professional artist.

I envisage that the key risk of this project is failure to secure the capital required to develop a range of products. To mitigate this I would love you to come with me by following my progress via my blog and supporting me by joining the journey.

I am crowdfunding as I've found people to be really supportive and interested in projects aimed at following your dreams.

Thank you so much for reading about my project.
