Dingle Tradfest 2017

This is Dingle Tradfest's seventh year and since its beginnings, the festival has gone from strength to strength. Each year we invite creative and innovative performers to Dingle to perform in a variety of spaces. We put together a programme of concerts, sessions, workshops, school concerts, band competitions and late-night gigs and bring well-established as well as up and coming artists together to perform. Sessions are unamplified giving the opportunity for other musicians, young and old, to participate (usually sessions are amplified in the town of Dingle). There are events to suit every age and musical taste.

The festival is directed by musicians Deirdre and Aoife Granville and dancer David Geaney who are well recognized as performers themselves. They are joined by a team of enthusiastic local people on the committee who are committed to culture.

We have not received as much funding as we hoped from some state organizations. We have received funding from Fáilte Ireland and Kerry County Council Arts Office.

The money will be spent on artists fees, accommodation and travel costs as well as extra session musicians, singers and dancers for our free session trails.

If we do reach the target, we do not foresee any obvious risks to the event. We have already secured artists and venues etc for the weekend and because this is our 7th year running the festival, we feel we are experienced and able to deal with any challenges that do come our way.

Go raibh míle maith agaibh as ucht bhúr tacaíocht - táimíd fíor bhuíoch. Thank you all so much for your support. We really appreciate it. Bainígí taitneamh as Dingle Tradfest!
