Féile an Dóilín

By Féile An Dóilín

description

Tá cultúr mara eisceachtúil i gConamara Theas agus tá Féile an Dóilín á cheiliúradh seo ar an trá is áille in Éirinn. Bígí linn ag féile deireadh seachtaine lán le imeachtaí ina mbeidh spraoi ag na gclann ar fad.

Féile an Dóilín is about showcasing the unique maritime culture of south Connemara, the home of Ireland most indigenous sailboat: the Galway Hooker. Come to the races on Irelands most famous Coral Beach, Trá an Dóilín, and enjoy a weekend of fun and cultural events for all the family in An Cheathrú Rua.

Tá Féile an Dóilín chun leas a bhaint as na h-áiseanna is nua-aimseartha chun sean-traidisiúin an cheantair a roinnt leó siúd ar talamh: pictiúir beó ón aer á chraoladh ar scáileán ar an trá agus ceol áitiúil agus tráchtaireach ag tacú leis. Beidh campa ar an trá ina mbeidh imeachtaí mar seó cócáireachta, siúlóid cois cladaigh ina bhfuil stair agus tíreolaíocht íontach, comórtas an Húicéara bídeach is galánta, scéalaíocht, blaise an bheoir áitiúil, déantús seodra as gaineamh coiréal an Dóilín, agus taispeántas físe an cheamradóir clúite, Cian de Buitléar.

Marrying 21st century technology with local traditions, spectators will watch Irelands iconic sailboats race Greatmans Bays: enjoying close-up views from live drone broadcast on a big-screen on the beach, video messages from the racing boats, and all this enlivened with commentary and live maritime music. There will be events for all the family in our tent on Trá an Dóilín: seafood cooking exhibition (with free fish for you to replicate at home); our local craftbrewer will explain the how Trá an Dóilín inpsired his beers, how it's brewed, and how it tastes!; a show of Galway Hooker model boats; a coastal walk detailing local history and geography; and a competition for the best jewlery made of Trá an Dóilíns famous coral sand and shells. Evening events include a presentation of renowned local cinematographer Cian de Buitléar's work on Irelands most indigenous traditional boats. Sásófar óg agus sean!

Bíonn gach tús lag, agus chuige sin atáthar ag lorg do chuid tacaíochta. Financing this event is most the challenging aspect, but with your support our team can provide an entertaining and memorable weekend for the local community and visitors alike. Tacaigí linn.

Tá Coiste ag Féile an Dóilín a bhfuil réimse leathan taithí acu ar muir, tír, agus le eagrú imeachtaí, tograí agus cúrsaí éagsúla.  Donncha Mac Con Iomaire : Léirtheoir/Producer teilifíse; Caiptín 'Maggie'. Aisling Nic Dhonnacha: Sliocht chlann Mháirtín Chóilín and a pillar in local swimming education.
Aodán Mac Donncha : Ships Captain & úinéara 'Ceol na Mara'

Tá an sprioc de €2,500 bainte amach againn agus muid ag cuir leis. Tá súil againn €3,000 a bhaint amach anois ós go bhfuil dhá lá fanta agus muid i bhfoisceacht €315 dhó sin. Go raibh míle maith agaibh ar fad as bhur gcuid tacaíochta. Tá súil againn go mbainfidh sibh sult as an bhféile agus sásamh as na t-léinte, sceanna-póca, agus Hoodies. Beidh siad le bailiú le linn an fhéile agus gheobhfaidh muid bealach chun iad a sheoladh chucú siúd nach féidir leó a bheith linn le linn Féile an Dóilín. We have reached our target of €2,500 agus are now going for a goal of €3,000, seen as we have two days left, and that we are only €315 short of that new target. Many thanks to all of you who have supported us. We hope that you enjoy the festival and your rewards. Those of you receiving t-shirts, hoodies, and penknives will be able to collect them during the festival and for those who can’t join us at Féile an Dóilín, we’ll make sure that you get your gifts. Míle buíochas libh ar fad, Coiste Féile an Dóilín

Tús maith leath na h-oibre (A good start is half the battle)

Nóta buíochais do na daoine a fheiceann an tairbhe tacú le Fundit Féile an Dóilín. Tá an-chabhair faighte againn le trí lá anuas. Nár laga Dia sibh. A wee note thanking you all who have supported us on our Féile an Dóilín Fundit campaign. The sails are being hoisted and at this rate we'll be sailing down the bay with the wind at our backs when Fundit race is over.
