Finding Charlie is a heart-warming short film that follows the life of Matty, a 38 year old man who's life is stuck in a rut. He spends most of his time in the local, either having a pint or playing guitar on a Saturday night with his band. That is until one day, nineteen year old Charlie enters the pub looking for Matty's ex girlfriend from 20 years ago. Only one thought strikes Matty... could this be the child that they gave up for adoption all those years back?
This story deals with letting go of the past, opening up to those around you and rebuilding relationships that were once thought were lost.
We are final year Film and Broadcasting students in Dublin Institute of Technology, Ireland's longest established film course. We've spent that last four years studying and practicing the art of cinematic storytelling. We've been lucky enough to have some of our previous films selected for film festivals in Ireland, such as the Galway Film Fleadh and UCFF.
Each of us believe in making the best films that we can and hope to share in the success of the great filmmakers that have come before us in D.I.T. Filmmaking is our shared passion and we will be putting our heart and soul into the making of these short films.
We will be shooting from March 20th - March 24th.
We are fortunate enough to have access to film equipment, provided to us by DIT. Although we will be working hard to raise funds amongst ourselves, unfortunately those funds alone will not allow this film to be the best it can be.
This is where, we hope, you come in!
Our goal is to raise €1750 through crowdfunding to bring this film to fruition. This money will go to buying props and costumes, getting a hair and makeup team, actors fees, catering fees, any travel or accommodation costs for cast, additional equipment, music and a score for the film and the final grade. It will also allow us to bring this film to festivals around Ireland and allow it to reach larger audiences so we can tell our story.
If you pledge to our film, you will be assisting a group of aspiring, young filmmakers share their story with the world.
We sincerely thank you for taking an interest in our project.
Any contribution that can be made will make the world of difference.
