description

What?
The Galway Fringe Festival (GFF) will take place in various venues across the city between the 11th and the 27th of July. With over 100 events billed, including five dance companies, twenty five theatre productions, over 50 bands from across the country, international artists, comedy, children’s events, puppetry, craft, family events, installation art, performance art, photography, sculpture, storytelling, workshops and Irish language events - so expect the unexpected at this year’s Fringe.

The Festival programme is full to capacity with diverse and exciting acts. Our line-up includes artists such as Antoni O’Breschi - internationally renowned for his skills in classical music piano playing, Featuring X, The Rye, Tom Portman, Athenry Music School Guitar Orchestra, Galway Comedy Club, Kirwans Lane Theatre Company, The Galway Fiddle Festival, Over 50 bands, 25 Theatre Productions, the Fringe Carnival, the inaugural Exhibition of Visual Art at Galway City Gallery, the Galway Biennial and the Irish Fringe Assembly (All Ireland Conference of Fringe Festivals) and much, much more.

Who?
We are a group of local artists and performers from Galway who have come together to provide a platform for artists of all disciplines from the Galway locality and further afield to showcase their work. Each of us will be performing in the festival ourselves and are really excited about the tremendous response we received to the call out for applications. The festival team is fast growing with nearly 100 volunteers enthusiastic to be involved in such an innovative project.

Why?
Our passion for the arts has driven us to head this project and we are informed by the huge interest that the festival is fulfilling a much needed role in providing performance opportunities for artists. Everyone is welcome to take part in our festival! GFF aims to bring the arts into the community and with the spirit of inclusivity many of our events are free. We also hope to promote the use of the Irish language .
Why we need your help.

Your generousity will go a long way in ensuring that the 4th GFF is a success. The funding will go towards our technical equipment, venues, lighting, sound, technicians, printing, advertising and ticketing costs among many other expenses that will be incurred while undertaking a project of this scale. Your individual support is crucial for the festival to fulfil its aims now and into the future. The Festival passes we are offering are tremendous value and would have a monetary value of over 300 euro each.
