My name is Niall Kinsella. I am a 25 year-old pianist and conductor based in Dublin. I have studied music at UCD, NUIM, DIT and RIAM.
Over the past few years I have put on and performed in many concerts in Dublin ranging from song recitals, small orchestral performances and choral concerts. I doing this I always make a point of providing opportunities for my peers, many of who are talented budding professional musicians/singers.
My next project is to conduct Handel's Messiah, a cornerstone work in the repertoire. Due to the forces required (orchestra, soloists and choir), it gives me a great chance to share this opportunity with upcoming singers and musicians.
As well as providing vital opportunities and exposure for young professional musicians and singers, this project will also bring a much loved work to Drogheda, further enriching the cultural profile of the town.
The performance will utilize a full choir and chamber orchestra and four soloists, all of which combine to make this a costly project. In addition to venue and advertising costs (about €1,000), I will need to pay for transport of orchestra, choir and soloists from Dublin to Drogheda (roughly €300). Rehearsal costs and performers' expenses will have to be paid for (€1,800).
