Last year the money we raised on Fund it was the single biggest contribution to K-Fest. As a non-profit organisation it is safe to say that without the contributions of all those via Fund it K-Fest would not have been as good as it was last year. It also brought the community closer together with K-Fest, making it a festival by the people, for the people.
As we are running a Fund it campaign again this year, we would be delighted if you would consider contributing again, and for those contributing for the first time, welcome to the K-Fest family. Money is not taken from your account until the Fund it campaign ends (and only if the total target amount is reached), so you don't need money at the time of pledging. Last year's rewards were so 2014, so we have updated them. Let's do this!
K-Fest, Ireland’s newest arts, music and entertainment festival is set in the spectacular surroundings of Killorglin, Co. Kerry. This cultural carnival of artistic adventures, musical marvels, theatrical treats and secret sessions is Munster’s premiere arts festival for emerging talent. Not only is K-Fest a new summer festival experience, but it also offers artists a new platform to showcase their work.
Following from the success of 2013 and 2014 we aim to deliver an even bigger and better festival over the June Bank Holiday weekend (May 29th to June 1st). The festival will comprise of a packed four-day programme consisting of art, music, theatre, audio-visual, film, poetry, spoken word, performance, fashion, debate and more. K-Fest is run by a small group of volunteers who work every spare moment we have to make this project happen because we believe passionately in it. We gain nothing but the satisfaction of knowing we can deliver something that we believe helps to inspire engagement with the arts in Killorglin and Kerry. Although we receive an amazing amount of support from artists, venues and volunteers, there are considerable costs to be covered when running a project like this.
We hope that your generosity will help make K-Fest 2015 bigger and better than ever. Money raised through Fund it will help us to cover many of these costs. Bands need to be paid for, artists’ expenses need to be covered (although they all exhibit for free, some expenses are unavoidable), programmes need to be printed, mailers sent out, posters printed and distributed, advertising and media coverage needs to be secured... The list goes on.
The K-Fest committee comprises of local artists, musicians, business people, teachers and volunteers from other walks of life. The sub-committees for the different disciplines work closely with the finance officer to ensure we get maximum bang for our bucks.
By contributing to K-Fest you’re not just guaranteeing yourself the best weekend out of the year - you’re supporting the creativity and careers of dozens of talented artists and creating a showcase for Ireland’s creative talent.
