Hello! My name is Denise and I'd like to tell you about KEEM. I've imagined a new ethical luxury brand inspired by the beauty of Ireland in particular Keem Achill Island. I fell in love with Achill on my first trip there the dramatic changes in the landscape as you head further west the people and the sheep who wander free in the fields on the road and on the beaches. I've taken quite literal inspiration from the land- and seascapes there with regard to the luxurious all natural fibre textile I designed and have already sampled for the collection of separates and outerwear which features the pattern of dry stone walls. The KEEM brand uses only premium fabrics. I've sourced the highest quality one hundred percent GOTS organic cotton from Turkish fair trade farms and silky smooth animal friendly faux fur. Garments will be ethically manufactured in Ireland. I hope to communicate the ethics and eco- nature of the brand and clothing with QR codes documenting one hundred percent transparency from fibre to floor and to promote cryptocurrency payment function on an informative website with ecommerce store. I hope you can help!
Most recently, I have finished a degree in Business in Entrepreneurship at IADT. To balance all the business study, I also created my first capsule collection of 6 pieces, which has been sampled and photographed for ecommerce and press. I have received really positive feedback and am delighted to be stocking Om Diva, Not Just A Label and Wolf & Badger in September 2016... with your help!
I studied Fashion Design at Sallynoggin CFE and have worked for Lennon Courtney (seamstress) on alterations and on a look for Panti Bliss. I have interned with designer and stylist Alison Conneely and with Lapel 1865, Cork. My background is in graphic design and photography (BA Visual Communication, 2000). I have also studied part time at Grafton Academy and enjoyed short courses at Central Saint Martins and National Tailoring Academy.
If successful, most of the funding amount, €8,550, will finance the creation of one bolt of KEEM designed fabric, with funds also supporting fair trade 100% GOTS organic cotton farms in Turkey. The remaining funding will help fund Irish manufacture of the garments, while developing 100% transparency function across QR codes, cryptocurrency payment and informative ecommerce site.
After investing €10,000 into creating the KEEM brand's final sample pieces and exclusive textile sample metres, along with professional product photography, my own funding is running low! I need to fund the creation of a bolt of my truly special, luxurious, all natural fabric. Please take a look at the great rewards. I am offering truly unique garments in exclusive luxurious natural textiles at near wholesale cost, saving you additional store markup.
If successful, the completion of garment rewards will be scheduled for delivery by the end of September 2016, dependent on factory schedule. I would be so grateful if you could help and share this information. Thank you!
