The business of producing the cookbook 'Live Life Love Food' came of a group of my transition year students. They are particularly interested in cooking and they feel that the cook book market currently does not meet their needs. They carried out market research and found that in fact many teenagers cannot cook. This book will be an easy book with some quick and simple recipes for everyday occasions like parties, dinners and snacks.
This book will also feature some recipes from famous celebrity chefs such as Rachel Allen, Darina Allen, Richard Corrigan, Kevin Dundon, Cooks Academy and Neven Maguire. A transition year student contacted all of these chefs via email and they were all delighted to submit a recipe into our book. We need €1,750 to produce the book and we already secured €750 from local businesses who are advertising in the cookbook. Any profits made from this event will go towards school funds which will enhance the educational opportunities for the girls doing the transition year programme. The class have already donated some future profits to Concern to help women’s health in third world countries.
You can find our business on Facebook or follow us on Twitter. We have weekly updates, jokes and recipes of the week. The girls are very excited about this project and would really be very grateful for your support.
The cookbook will be launched on the 27th of February at Knightsbrook Hotel Trim by celebrity chef Neven Maguire. He is hosting a school fundraiser on the night. Neven has kindly supported our project and will be writing a forward for the cookbook. It promises to be a very exciting launch and showcase of the girls finished product.
