Live Psychic

By Conor English

description

Live Psychic, is the debut film by myself, Conor English and my friend and colleague Calvin Doyle, it is fuelled by it’s dreamy atmosphere, surrealist imagery and dark irish humour. Crafted as a mystery thriller, it follows the path of a psychic in a small midlands town in Ireland, comforting and consulting those in need of her guidance, however, her dream like visions turn to nightmares as they uncover a harsh reality.

Similar in approach to work, Calvin Doyle and myself, use a wide range of creative disciplines to generate captivating and concise work. We both graduated with first class honours in visual communications in Athlone IT last year, and we are now applying our extensive knowledge to writing and directing films that capture different aspects of Irish culture.

We have a lot of support on the making of the film already, we have backing from both the Westmeath County council & the Westmeath Arts Office, who are keen to promote the undeveloped filmmaking scene in the midlands. Several well respected local figures have given guidance and their expertise on film work up until this point. We have the full support of the Chimera Gallery in Mullingar in both production and screening of the final film. For all of this we are very grateful but we still need your help to complete our project to its full potential!

How are we getting on?
Currently we have shot our first scene and are in talks with several actors for the role of the psychic. We need your money to finish the rest of the filming, along with post costs outlines before. We aim to have our project finished at the beginning of June & first screenings to take place at the end of June.

What do we need money for?
The funds will go towards our post-production costs. We have already fundraised over €1000 for the film ourselves. Your support will help cover our editing, visual effects, grading and post-production costs, festival fees, marketing and printing. We greatly appreciate your financial support for this project.
