Hi there, and welcome to my Fund it page!
My name is Máire Carroll and l am an international concert pianist from Dublin. I will be recording my first solo piano album in Cork this August.
I fell in love with the piano at the age of three after watching my big sister having her piano lessons at the Royal Irish Academy of Music. I've never looked back! I have performed throughout Europe, Asia, North America and Canada including performances at Wigmore Hall, the Barbican, Carnegie Hall and the National Concert Hall, Dublin. I made my concerto debut with the RTE National Symphony Orchestra in 2015 and l have collaborated with the London Sinfonietta and the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine. I have received scholarships to participate in several festivals including Aspen Music Festival and Banff Centre for the Arts.
This project is a showcase of some of my favourite piano works. I'm really excited about the repertoire I've chosen. This album will include thrilling piano works by both female and male composers, spanning baroque, romantic and contemporary eras. Each of these pieces extends boundaries and asks questions. I can't wait to share this with you!
I began my studies at the Royal Irish Academy of Music, Dublin and l have spent the past four years studying at the Royal Academy of Music in London. l believe l am ready to share my artistic vision with you. I am in the process of planning an Irish tour for 2018 where l will perform works from the album in a variety of venues around the country. l hope to see you there!
I'm crowdfunding in order to realise this project, which will help me with the next step of my career. l would appreciate your support to record this album to the highest standard possible.
The funding will go towards the following:
I have a wide range of rewards for you to choose from - hopefully there is something for everyone.
I'm really looking forward to this next step of my journey. It would simply not be possible to do this on my own and l am so grateful for all of your support.
Thank you so much,
