We're Cold Comfort, a Dublin based band with a cocktail of blues, rock and roll and country.
We've been in the studio for the past five months putting together our Debut Album 'Tainted Winds'. It's 11 tracks long and up to now has been funded in its entirety by our own good selves (round of applause). But before the Album's released in late May / early June we'll need to some help getting funds together for the Mastering, Printing, Pressing and Duplication of the Cd.
In return for your generosity, however small or large (size doesn't matter ) we will box you off with some sweet rewards e.g. - Signed Albums, E.Ps, Tickets to our Album Launch, Private gigs, T-shirts and of course you get to play a big part in getting 'Tainted Winds' to the masses.
We respect how tight funds are at the moment so no pressure. We’ve put together a list of whopper incentives that you can avail of, if you can help a bit with our cause.
Thanks for spending the time reading our proposal and we appreciate whatever support you can offer whether it is monetary or just helping us spread the good word and share the love.
Rob Walsh, Colm Hassett, Joey McGowan and Eoin Morrissey
With Rob Walsh on vocal, guitar and harmonica, Colm Hassett on drums and percussion, Joey McGowan on bass guitar, Eoin Morrissey on lead guitar, Cold Comfort are a band set to take you on a journey. They have been together for two years and have gathered a dedicated following in that time. The songs tell tales of misspent adventure, lost friends & honest, poetic observations on the way we live. The music has been described as “a cocktail of blues, rock & roll and country" but they go beyond these genres to create a funky, foot-stomping, eclectic sound.
Since 2011, Cold Comfort gigged regularly with support slots for Whipping Boy and Alabama 3 on their recent UK tour (with Rob Co-writing songs for their recent Shoplifting for Jesus Album). They also hit the Dublin live music scene with frequent appearances. The past summers have seen Cold Comfort play sets at most of the Irish festivals.
"With the deliciously tuneful Rob Walsh on the mic and Colm Hassett of Whipping Boy on drums, it comes as no surprise that folk rock fivesome Cold Comfort have produced a thoroughly enchanting debut single. There’s a kind of humdrum charm to ‘Sweet Light’, but once you hear those epic strings kick in, you’re bound to give it a second listen" - Hotpress
"If common sense holds true, and a good start is half the work, Cold Comfort should be coasting from here. The recently formed Dublin quintet have hit the ground running. Eight months into their career and they’ve just completed a tour with Whipping Boy, and are about to embark on one supporting Alabama Three" - The university observer
