Hi, my name is Miriam Donohue, a musician from Galway now based in Dublin. My favourite quote describing my music is " it's like childrens stories printed on silk pages": in fact I'll have to write a song about that!
Raising €5000 to fund the cost of my Debut Album.
The money will be spent on
* The recording studio (€650 per day)
*CD Duplication ( 500 cds for approx €1000).
* any left over it will go towards the album launch night.
The album will contain 12 songs that I have written over the past 3 years; vocals, guitar and some additional instrumentation as provided by me and other musicians.
The songs are written and ready with some final arrangement work to finish, the studio is booked for the first week of December and I hope the Album will be ready for your ears early next year.
How Fund it works:
For those of you not familiar with crowd funding campaigns, there are a list of creative rewards in exchange for your contributions (see list below!) I also have to reach the total target of € 5000 or I will not receive any money contributed.
I've been lucky enough to discover a latent passion for music and songwriting. It's been 4 years since I started gigging and performing, and I can't believe the journey it's taken me on. I've played Electric Picnic, Castlepalooza, Spirit of Folk, Ones to Watch, I've played all around the country in pubs , houses, fields and art centres and I've been castaway on islands for music residencies.
I've been in Hotpress Music Magazine in the Final 5 of the Big Break Competition, on TG4 music show 'Ceol ar an Imeall', and played on Irish Radio stations RTE1 and Lyric FM as an upcoming Irish talent. AND I've met a whole heap of lovely people along the way, who have inspired me and encouraged me to keep going!
I've supported some great acts over the years, Jack L, John Spillane, Mark Geary, The 4ofUs, as well as Nina Pearsons (The Cardigans) and I'm about to support Martha Wainwright on Nov 3rd.
I also spent a wonderful year studying music on AMP Access Music Project in 2013 in Galway, and I have to mention them because they were such a supportive team, and this was an important year in nurturing my abilities as a musician.
So I owe it to so many for supporting me, coming to gigs and spreading the word anytime I have reached out.
I'm reaching out again to you with these songs that have been written over the past 3 years and are only dying to get out into the world! :)
Pass the word on to friends and please share:)
Thanks for your time and continued support,
Ps: Keep an eye out for gigs in November where I'll be promoting my Fund it campaign and sharing songs from the album.
