Mr. Donkey

By Rising Film Productions

In this episode...

...Antonius, Brendan's manager, hires a cheap television crew to document Brendan as he prepares for his upcoming performance at The Eurovision Song Contest. Unfortunately, little to Brendan or the crew's knowledge, Antonius has failed to get Brendan into the Eurovision and instead has entered him into the next best thing. The Alternative Miss Ireland Contest!  That's right Mr. Donkey's gonna be performing in The Olympia this March!

We are Rising Film Productions a new film company dedicated to making original and off the wall comedies, headed by Christian Kotey, Jonathan Clancy and Stefano Battarola. Christian Kotey is moving into film from theatre directing, with his last play End of the Line being performed at the Edinburgh International Fringe Festival and the Belfast Fringe Festival. He also began his career in storytelling through comic books, working for marvel in the 90s and illustrating self created comic books such as DNA Swamp. His other expertise is in art and design, including body painting, special effects make-up, sculpting, set and float designs, and appropriately masks!

Stefano Battarola has been a freelance D.O.P, editor and color grader in Ireland and England for 5 years and is currently teaching Filmmaking Cinematography at the SAE Film Institute London.

Mr. Donkey will be one of the craziest and funniest comedies Ireland has ever seen, with Brendan and Antonius getting into stranger adventures every episode. Help us start Brendan's journey to becoming the greatest musician the world has ever known! The webisode stars some of the best up and coming comedic talents in Dublin, including Paul Butler (Hardy Bucks). On their journey Mr. Donkey befriends a barrage of bizarre and colourful characters such as failed porn stars, a female gangster, a stressed out social worker and a violent gang of Harry Potter fans!

Expect general lunacy!

If we reach our target, we intend to hold the premiere in early June 2012 – a guaranteed summer blockbuster!

Funding will go towards equipment hire (€1,000), crew hire (€1,000), post audio work (€1,700) and ensuring everyone has a great time at the premiere (€1,000). Mr. Donkey also needs a new mask (he can't see through his current one!).

Thanks for taking the time to read our pitch and watch our trailer. Hope to provide you with more Mr. Donkey adventures soon!

Project Resubmission

Hi everyone, first of all we'd just like to say thank you so much for supporting our project. We very much appreciate your very generous donations to help us make Mr. Donkey the musical sensation we all know he was born to be. Unfortunately it looks like we won't be able to reach our current target, fortunately however we will be resubmitting the project within the next couple of days with a revised and more modest target. We are more than confident that we will be able to make a fantastic episode of Mr. Donkey with a tighter budget. Please keep an eye out for our next submission. Your continued support would be very much appreciated. Lets make this Donkey gallop!

Typo in description

Hi everyone, just realized there's a typo in our description. The actor 'Paul Butler' should be down as 'Paul Butler-Lennox'. Sorry for any confusion caused.

4 weeks to go and a quarter of the way to reaching our target!

Thanks a million to everyone who has pledged so far! We're now a quarter of the way there. Please tell your friends about our little donkey and help us make him the greatest musician the world has ever known!
