Neil Jordan's Byzantium - Castletownbere

By Noreen Collins

What is Cinemobile?
Cinemobile is Ireland’s mobile cinema and we are a non-profit organisation and a registered charity. We are funded by the Irish Film Board, RTE, The Arts Council, Europa and various county councils. Cinemobile is a 100 seater cinema with full digital screening facilities and is fully air conditioned.

What is the Event?
The people of Castletownbere want Cinemobile to screen Neil Jordan’s latest feature film ‘Byzantium’ in their town. The film was shot in Castletownbere and the surrounding area, so be the first to see your town up on the big screen!

Cinemobile run a pop-up cinema service in communities all over Ireland and we are now creating an Event Screening in Castletownbere for the opening night of Neil Jordan’s latest feature ‘Byzantium’ on Saturday night 29th June

Why Fund it?
The costs to Cinemobile to screen films is much higher than costs for your normal cinema. Fuel costs, accommodation and subsistence for the driver/projectionist are additional costs other cinemas don’t incur. For Cinemobile to run this event and screen Byzantium we need to be guaranteed that all tickets will be sold in advance. Without your funding this event cannot go ahead. When full funding is acquired the event is made viable.

For Cinemobile to run this event and screen ‘Byzantium’ in Castletownbere we need to be guaranteed that all 100 tickets be sold in advance. When all 100 tickets are sold, this event will go ahead. All tickets must be purchased before Friday 31st May.

Our opening night is: Sat 29th June 2013

Location: Cinemobile, Castletownbere, Co Cork – The Town Square Car park

Time: 8.00pm
