NINE WEEKS is a mixed performance piece combining story, tenor vocal, movement and text with choral singers and musical accompaniment on stage. Featuring music composed by Amanda Feery and chorus conducted by Julie Shanley.

It will run for six nights at the Smock Alley Theatre in September 2019.

This is a story of love, vulnerability, connection and reclaiming lost power. When Seán discovered his mother was terminally ill, he travelled to Australia to bring her home. Things didn’t go as planned. He’s trapped between two worlds. These nine weeks changed them both forever.

Classically trained tenor Seán Kennedy uses his voice to release the pressure. He celebrates his mother’s life, and all women that defy male oppression and abuse.

Together with conductor Julie Shanley's choral ensemble and composition by composer Amanda Feery, they bring the sonorous performance world to life.


It costs a few bob to mount a professional piece of theatre, even on a tight budget! Here's a breakdown of what we need to cover:

Rehearsal space rental (shocking like any Dublin rental)
Materials for props and set (keeping it simple & beautiful)

Costume (Again simple, but for 8 people)

We've set our Fund:it target under our overall budget estimation. The challenge will be staying within budget, as unexpected things always come up. This is usually a part of the process and we will of course make it work and adapt as the unforeseen presents itself.

We're crowdfunding because we can't raise the capital alone. This is a wonderful life affirming story and performance that needs to be made. We'd love you to be a patron of this art and help us bring it to life.
