“Dream is the personalized myth, myth the depersonalized dream; both myth and dream are symbolic in the same general way of the dynamic of the psyche. But in the dream the forms are quirked by the peculiar troubles of the dreamer, whereas in myth the problems and solutions sown are directly valid for all mankind”
Joseph Campbell, The Hero With a Thousand Faces
I try to be true to my work. For so long the lines blur. I was raised on folklore, myth and legend. When I paint I dream, the supple tip of the brush my only point of focus. As in dreams, the light and dark mix, joy and fear, hand in hand. The weight of history. Religion, oppression, failed rebellion. The freedom of the fairies, with songs of a long passed golden age inspiring hope for generations. I hope the problems and solutions they have shown me will also prove valid for some of mankind.
“History, is a nightmare from which I am trying to awake.” James Joyce
I primarily work in the medium of oil. Oil has a life of its own, with time its colours darken as it cures with the environment around it. Oil works in harmony with my own holistic approach. Every piece has a life of its own, that will continue long after it finds a home. I have completed various commissions where I try to connect the piece with my patrons own myths and dreams.

After recently deciding to open my work to the wider world, chance struck again. A submission was met with a chance to exhibit as part of a show in New York and Dallas. I am now actively seeking more opportunities to show my works.
I decided to crowdfund this project as it allows the opportunity for potential backers to get a unique piece of art while also contributing to the development of the artist. Without such a forum it would be very difficult to comprehend such an undertaking.
The first opportunity is Dallas followed by New York on the 16th and 21st of April respectively. As the nature of this opportunity is one of extreme short notice I will be funding what I can of this in order to get some presence at both events. Depending on further responses to submissions I hope to be adding new opportunities to this list. I envision transportation costs of artworks overseas and all the Gallery fees and travel expenses. Any unused funding will be utilised to pursue further exhibits, showings and promotions.
I will be updating PaddysPerch regularily as things develop with this venture.
As a self employed artist, I rely entirely on the generosity of my fans and patrons. Without whom I would be unable to sustain and maintain my art and its ongoing future. If you can contribute in any way shape or form, Thank you.
