There are a select group of artists working around the world that approach the skin as a canvas and produce custom pieces that are more fitting in a fine art gallery than on a persons back.
What we plan to do is break down the preconceived ideas of tattoo art, the artists behind the industry and the clients who fuel it. For Pigment we have approached talented photographers that are working today in Ireland and asked them to create images that best represent this true art form through their eyes.
In order to run this exhibition we would really appreciate your help and have provided some great rewards in return for your funding. In funding this project, your money will go towards costs involved for printing and mounting the artwork, print costs for the accompanying publication as well as gallery rental.
The photography exhibition runs from Mon 18th- Sun 24th of August and opening night is on Thursday 21st in The Library Project, Temple Bar, Dublin.
Sean & Yvette, Richard Gilligan, Kathrin Baumbach, Joshua Gordon, Noel Bowler, Paul Mahon, Johnny Savage, Sean Jackson, Jean Curran.
