Rackhouse Pilfer 2nd CD

By Rackhouse Pilfer

Hi Folk

We are Rackhouse Pilfer, a 6 piece alt country, bluegrass band who were born during acoustic sessions in McGarrigle's Bar in Sligo early 2012 where we played our favourite bluegrass, Americana and folk hits. The sessions instantly become really popular and we still enjoy our thriving Monday night residency in McG’s, packing the place to the rafters.

Since then, we have been on the musical journey of our lives. This has seen us perform at some of Irelands biggest festivals and venues including the world famous Omagh folk park bluegrass festival, Body and Soul, Sligo Live, Whelan’s, Monroe’s and Crane Lane amongst others. We also embarked on our first European tour this summer where we performed at festivals in France, Italy and Switzerland.

We released our debut album, “Back to the Country” at The Model Arts Centre Sligo, filling the venue to capacity and insuring a night that will go down in Sligo’s musical legend. The first album contains a collection of our own renditions of some of our favourite tunes.

We are now ready to return to the studio to record our second album, this time of all original material and with the help of a London based producer. We have secured the use of a professional recording studio and have saved 50% of the necessary budget through gigging and touring over the past year.

You can help us to do this independently
We would love to do this on our own and that is why we are looking for you to come on board and help us with the remaining 50% necessary to make this happen. Your funding will help pay for the studio, producer, mixing, mastering and CD production. In short your contribution will help to make this happen.

We plan to get tucked into recording this winter and to release the album in Spring 2014 and would love to see you all at our album launch! If you’d like to find out more about us, check out our website: www.rackhousepilfer.com, or have a listen on youtube: Rackhouse Pilfer, Angela

Thanks in advance for taking the time to read this and to consider our proposal. We’d love to have you on board and hope that you’ll find something amongst our rewards which strikes a chord with you.

Leon, Leslie, Willie, Fiachra, Mark and Hugh – the Rackhouse Pilferers!

It's the final countdown!!!

We wouldn't be making this CD without you and dat's the truth!!! Massive than you to y'all! We're going to be celebrating tonight at Tricky's McGarrigles with a fancy dress hillbilly hoedown so grab your cowboy/girl boots and your stetson and see you on the floor!!

We've done it!!!

We can hardly believe it!! We have hit our target and with over a week left to go on the campaign! Thanks so much to all of you for helping us to get there. We truly appreciate all the support we have received throughout this campaign. Sure it'd make a grown man cry - six of them even! We have just about a week left on this campaign. Anything we get over and above the target will be put to really good use, you can count on that!! So for now, our motto is keep on truckin'!! And seriously, we take out hats off to all of you good people!! Thank you mighty kindly!

Nashville here we come!! but we'll have a cuppa tae and a bun first

Hi everyone.. We're fairly overwhelmed, there are now 166 of you, people who have supported our fund it campaign. Thanks to you we will be producing our 2nd album together with producer Brad Jones at Alex the Great studios. Jones has worked with incredible artists such as Josh Rouse, Dolly Parton, Ricky Skaggs, John Prine and Steve Earle and we are very excited about producing our album together with him. We're nearly on the home stretch so if you guys could spread the word just a little bit more in the coming week, we'll hit that finishing line and home in time for tea! And speaking of tea .. any of you in the Sligo vicinity this weekend our good friend Susie Petersen has organised a cake sale in aid of our campaign from 12 to 4 at the Scout's Den in Rosses Point! Now that's we call rock n'roll!

Week Two .. we're getting there!

So we're into Week Two and a massive big thank you to all of you for coming on board ! Legends one and all! We're 33% there which is really good going. Typically, campaigns tend to slow down a wee bit in the middle so we appreciate any posting, tweeting, word spreading you can do to help us through! We're looking forward to getting into the studio and are really chuffed with the support we've been getting! Yours truly The Rackhouse Pilferers!

Day 2 and nearly 20% there!

Hi Everyone Thanks so much for coming on board our fund it campaign. We're really overwhelmed by the immediate and generous response we've received. It's fantastic. Your support will enable us to work with a top producer and make our second CD of all originals. It's early days yet but we're definitely heartened by the positive response we've received. We look forward to sending you all your rewards! We'll be keeping you posted on our progress over the next 6 weeks and hopefully by the end celebrating our success with you. If you have a face book or twitter account and are happy enough to tell the world that you've helped us out, that would be brilliant. In the meantime .. Keep it country (alt country that is :)) The Rackhouse Pilferers
