The Breakfast Club
It has been a dream of mine since my very early teens to stage The Breakfast Club, and I am now looking to proceed with the Project during the summer of this year.
Since I was very young, twelve or so, I have wanted to stage The Breakfast Club. I also wanted to star in it, but I have decided to fully go ahead with my passion project, but acting only as Director/Producer. I think it would be great to see the renowned 80s film given the stage treatment.
The Production will be running late August (dates to be confirmed) in Cork Arts Theatre, locally known as The Cat Club. The production will be run in association with Cork Arts Theatre. The performance rights have been granted by Universal Studios, The script has been adapted, and we have a rehearsal venue. It is now simply down to funds to stage this production.
Needed to stage this production is a relatively small budget of €3000, needed for:
- Venue Rental
- Stage Materials
- Lighting and Sound Design
- Advertising
- Props and Miscellaneous production items
- Insurance
As the campaign progresses I will be sharing more information, and other items to entice everyone.
Tickets will be priced at €15/€12 concession and €10 for groups (6 people or more)
The Breakfast Club is a 1984 film, written and directed by John Hughes. It follows five teenagers through their day at detention, but we guess you already knew that. Everybody knows this movie, and we need your help to bring it to the stage.
Any pledged monies will not be taken from your account unless we reach out goal, If you can not afford to make a contribution but are interested in this project, I would greatly appreciate you sharing this page on any social media websites.
