The Mariannes are a six piece alternative folk act. The band met in 2012, and began their musical journey shortly thereafter. Bringing to the table an array of influences, including folk, rock, blues, country and trad, the band slowly began to carve out a sound that sets them apart, and took their music to the vibrant independent music scene in Dublin’s Fair City.
To date, our music has been very positively received by audiences and fellow musicians alike. This has allowed us to gain momentum and become involved in a number of events over the past couple of years including headlining a charity gig at “The Village”, and playing at the infamous “Tumbleweed Love Sessions”.
For the past year, we have been working hard to create a collection of compelling tracks, and playing them to as wide an audience as we can muster. It was important to us that we remained patient in terms of approaching the recording of our first body of work, and we are pleased to announce that we are finally ready to dip our toes in the water and record our Debut E.P, entitled “Lost with All Hands”. However, we cannot do this without your help, and will be reliant on the kindness of friends and strangers in order to bring this little gem to you in August 2014!
We are hoping to professionally record, mix and master the E.P this July with a view to celebrating its arrival with a launch later in August. All the funds we manage to raise here will go directly towards the costs involved in the production / recording / distribution processes. We will try to guarantee that any contribution you make is appropriately rewarded, and are truly grateful for any funds that you can afford to spare. We are so thankful for all the support and encouragement we have received since we began our journey together, and with a little help from you guys, we can reach our first major milestone in a few short months, and hopefully make you guys proud.
Slán go Fóill,
Lisa, Joe, Eamon, Gearóid, Ian and Jack.
