The Paper Princess at Edinburgh Fringe

By Monkeyshine Theatre

description

Our Project
The Paper Princess has toured throughout Ireland and was taken to Norway to the delight of children and the young at heart. Monkeyshine Theatre are delighted this show has been invited to perform at C venues at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. C venues prides themselves on their programming of quality entertainment and performances for younger audiences. This performance is based on the book by Elisa Kleven.

Why We Need Your Help
Help our Paper Princess take flight and go on an amazing adventure over the seas to a venue close to a place befitting her station - Edinburgh Castle! Located just off the Royal Mile, The Paper Princess will be settling in to C venues for 11 days of the festival from July 31st - August 10th. It is a costly business bringing a Princess on a journey of this nature and we need help to cover all the associated costs of production, travel and accommodation. Completely unfunded so far, we want to seize this opportunity to present the show at the Edinburgh Fringe and give it it's UK premiere.

All contributions large or small will be greatly appreciated and acknowledged with gifts and delights for the Princes and Princesses in your life!

About The Show
You are invited to a birthday party! There will be glitter and sparkles, a tiny theatre and a magical story to be told.

The audience are encouraged to make their very own paper prince or princess and are invited to gather in front of the toy theatre.

The birthday girl tells the audience about her own paper princess and how it blew away in a gust of wind., up into the air and out into the world.

As the story begins the little theatre comes to life and the paper princess blows through a beautiful world made of paper, lit by tiny theatre lights and accompanied by live music.

When the paper princess finally makes her way home the birthday girl is waiting and so is a little theatre filled with paper princes and paper princesses wearing beautiful clothes of wonderful colours, covered in glitter and sparkles, it’s the perfect birthday party.
