Hello and welcome to our page!
Thank you for visiting us and taking the first step in funding our project. Now let's get down to business!
Ill-Advised Theatre Company is a brand new theatre company based in Dublin. We're set up with the goal of bringing high quality and professional musical theatre standards to the Dublin stage at an affordable price. We believe you shouldn't have to spend huge amounts to see a high quality show. We want to take musical theatre out of church halls, schools and community theatres, and bridge the gap between amateur and professional productions. This is something that we feel is currently missing within the Irish theatre scene. We don't believe you should have to take out a small loan to see a fantastic piece of theatre!
We're also committed to bringing shows that you wouldn't see performed too often in Dublin from around the world. Shows that push the boundaries on what musical theatre is and ask abstract, yet relevant questions.
[title of show] is a musical that does just that! The show was originally written by Jeff Bowen and Hunter Bell in 2004 for the New York Musical Theatre Festival. Since then, the show has chronicled it's own creation, from inception, to opening night on Broadway. It tells the story of two writers, Jeff and Hunter, trying to write a musical about two guys writing a musical. Still following? Great! They then enlist the help of their two friends Heidi and Susan. The show is about not being afraid to follow your dreams and maintaining a respect for your loved ones, and yourself while doing so. The beauty of this show is in its simplicity. It only has four chairs, four characters, and a keyboard.
Presently, we are trying to raise the funds to pay for the rights of the show and the venue. We hope to put it on in The New Theatre in Temple Bar next May, and need all the help we can get to get this production up and running.
Please help in any way you can. Have a look at our rewards and see what catches your eye. This is a great chance for you to be the first to secure the best tickets in the house, and also to have top class workshops and performances run for you. What more could you ask for?! Also, please share this page with your family and friends and just get the word out there! The money raised will be a huge help in bringing the amazing piece of theatre to the Dublin stage.
Thank you so much for taking the time to visit our page, and we hope to see you soon!
