Who Owns Marriage? A Conversation.

By Nick Park

description

The debate over Ireland's Referendum on Same-Sex Marriage is turning into a 'Punch and Judy Show' with each side lobbing arguments at each other. "Who Owns Marriage?" seeks to go beyond the immediate controversy and explores how people of faith can have deeply held beliefs without seeking to infringe on the civil rights of others. Contributors from a wide range of backgrounds discuss religion, society, sexuality, and how we define and practice marriage.

Nick Park, the author of the basic text, is senior pastor of the Solid Rock Church in Drogheda and Executive Director of Evangelical Alliance Ireland. Responses have already been received from the Director of Studies of the Irish Bible Institute, from David Quinn of the Iona Institute, from CARE Europe, and from LGBT activists. The deadline for further contributions is only days away.

Proof reading and editing is scheduled to be completed by the end of March. The €2000 raised from this project will fund an initial print run of 2000 copies.
